Kim Hartlin started river exploration in 1973 when he and three others
canoed up the South Nahanni River in the North West Territories, Canada.
They were the youngest ever to paddle up this untamed river. After this
epic adventure Kim knew that running rivers and exploring the unknown
was his destiny.
He is a professional expedition river guide with over 40 years of experience
working in Canada, The United States, Nepal and India, specializing in
guiding river trips in India the past 26 years.
India is a storehouse of mighty rivers, many of them not yet run; Thunder
Bow Expeditions specializes in running river trips in Arunachal Pradesh
Indias north east. Kim has guided 14 successful descents on the Great Siang
Brahmaputra River where it enters India from Tibet: a truly incredible
river.
Kim has a fascination with native and primitive cultures; his whole life
he has been very sensitive to all cultures. Because of his respect towards
tribal people and their love towards the land, he has developed a deep
attachment to nature and those who live with it. In his years of river
running he has shared his love and respect with thousands of clients.
